Lock operating hours
Monday – Friday (holidays excepted) from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Outside of regular lock operating hours, locking is by prior appointment only, Monday – Friday (excluding holidays) from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Staatliche Rhein Neckar-Hafengesellschaft Mannheim mbH, Central Ship Registration office, Rheinvorlandstr. 5, 68159 Mannheim, by phone +49 621 292-3113 . A fee is charged for locking outside of operating hours.
The swing bridge at the port lock has a clearance height of 9.75 m at the Mannheim Rhine 0 level
Bridge rotation times
Diffenébrücke
Bridge can be raised at any time of the day or night.
Bridge raise requests can be made with proper notice at the mobile number +49 151 27402517 to the dispatcher of Deutsche Bahn AG, Mannheim-Käfertal train station.
The request to raise the bridge must clearly state whether both bridges or only the lower bridge (railway bridge) is to be raised.
- Clearance height of railway bridge 10.00 m at Rhine level MA 0
- Clearance height of roadway bridge 10.80 m at Rhine level MA 0
- Usable passage width 26.00 m
The bridge will not be lifted during poor visibility and weather.
All congregating in the passage area of the bridge is prohibited. vessels are required to coordinate with each other on channel 10 of the Regional Agreement on the Inland Maritime Radio, current version.
Mühlauhubbrücke
he bridge is raised upon registration by phone with the dispatcher at the Rheinlust signal box, +49 621 830-3544 .
The costs will be charged directly to the initiator by Deutsche Bahn AG.
- Clearance height 7.80 m at level MA 0
By appointment only (Monday to Friday from 4:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Saturday from 4:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.)
Raising is free of charge during these operating hours.
Neckarvorlandbrücke
Bridge is raised only upon prior notification to the Staatliche Rhein Neckar-Hafengesellschaft Mannheim mbH, Central Ship Registration Office, Rheinvorlandstr. 5, 68159 Mannheim, +49 621 292-3113 , Monday – Friday (except public holidays) from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Clearance height 6.45 m at the Mannheim Rhine 0 gauge
- Lifting height 9.0 m. At or above 6.20 m Neckar level in Mannheim, the Neckarvorlandbrücke will no longer be raised for technical reasons.
Spatzenbrücke
Monday to Friday: from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
