Waterside cargo handling fell slightly in November
In November 2020, a total of 632,750 tonnes of goods were transshipped on the waterside in the Mannheim ports. The throughput fell from 645,782 tons in the previous year by 13,032 tons (- 2.02 percent).
The goods groups iron, steel and non-ferrous metals (+ 39.54 percent, + 7,065 tons), agriculture, forestry and other products (+ 29.88 percent, + 5,171 tons) and other food and feed (+ 21.43 percent, + 27,684 tons).
The waterside container traffic in November totaled 64,269 tons. The tonnage thus decreased by 16,228 tons (- 20.16 percent) from 80,497 tons in the same month of the previous year. In November 2020, a total of 7,566 TEU (20-foot containers) were loaded and unloaded on the waterside. This is 31 TEU (+ 0.41 percent) more than in the previous month with 7,535 TEU.
The average water level in November 2020 at Rhine level Mannheim was 2.26 meters and thus 0.41 meters below the average level in November 2019 of 2.67 meters.
